T.Y. Fine Furniture: Commitment to Organic and Sustainable Extends to Very Own Farmers Market

In 2012 the owner of T.Y. Fine Furniture, Tarik Yousef,  purchased an historic 13,000 square foot building in downtown Merion Village, Columbus Ohio.  After two years of renovation he opened the new TYFF showroom in this beautiful, old world community amidst picturesque architecture and some wonderful small businesses.  However, one component that was missing was an outlet to bring people together, allow them to buy organic produce, meet each week and share conversation.  In 2014 TYFF Sales Manager, Wes Miller along with Tarik Yousef, founded the Merion Village Farmers Market whose mission is to “foster the creation of a sense of community by offering a weekly meeting place for neighbors to come, have coffee, a bite to eat, fresh produce and listen to world class music.”

Now in its second year the market has really taken off as the community has rallied behind this new and exciting event in their neighborhood.  We continue to add produce vendors with the focus on “all organic” being paramount.  As the market continues to grow we have been grateful to see volunteers step up and take on some of the responsibilities of recruiting new vendors.  The Merion Village Association even has a weekly tent at the market to let people know about events and the growth of this charming area.

The market is actually the manifestation of TYFF’s philosophy that our products should be made using only naturally fallen Ohio timber and our own food grade, organic finish.  We work very hard to ensure that none of our artisanal wood furniture contains any harmful chemicals that will off-gas.  Our line of mattresses are even certified as organic by that industries leading organization, Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

If you find yourself in Columbus, Ohio on any Saturday (9:00-12:00) through September 26, 2015 please stop by the Merion Village Farmers Market and then visit T.Y. Fine Furniture right next door!
